Every person in the workplace will go through interviews, as it is a preliminary judgment of professionals. There are various types of interviews, and they are an important method for companies to select employees. Interviews provide an opportunity for both the company and the applicant to communicate and understand each other.

One interview question that has attracted widespread attention is: "A colleague owes you money, how do you get it back?" A high emotional intelligence candidate gave a clever response and was accepted. The interviewer asks each question with a purpose. If you don't understand the underlying meaning, you might answer incorrectly and miss the opportunity. Some people may think, "Why are these irrelevant questions asked if they don't assess my job skills?" In fact, they are not irrelevant, and there is much wisdom behind them.

The interviewer is assessing your interpersonal skills, which are often overlooked.

In the workplace, we interact with colleagues the most, and borrowing money is a sensitive topic. The combination of these two topics seems challenging, but your answer reveals how well you can interact with colleagues and handle workplace relationships.

Additionally, the interviewer is also assessing your ability to think on your feet. One candidate, a post-90s generation, responded saying, "It doesn't matter if my colleague doesn't return the 500 yuan, it's not a big deal." This shows a lack of financial prudence, and the company may not be able to afford such an attitude. Only the last candidate provided a logical and perfect answer. Her response can be seen as a textbook solution for dealing with this issue in our daily lives.

It doesn't damage the relationship with the colleague and allows her to retrieve the money.

Here are three simple ways to handle the situation when a colleague owes you money: 1. Avoid frequent financial transactions with colleagues. Since relationships with colleagues are fragile, we may be good work partners but not friends.

They can easily fall apart, especially when money is involved.

2. Only lend money to two types of people: reputable individuals with a sense of responsibility and urgent financial needs. It's better to lend to trustworthy individuals who keep their word. These people are more likely to repay the money.

3. If a colleague owes you money and refuses to return it, there are three tactics you can use. Firstly, kindly remind them about the debt and request repayment.

If they still don't cooperate, borrow money from them and deduct 200 yuan before returning the rest. This way, they will understand the situation. Alternatively, directly ask for the money in front of others. Companies want to see logical thinking skills in job seekers, as they want to cultivate talents who can benefit their organization's rapid and efficient development.
