American study: Just 8 weeks of lifestyle changes can make you 4.6 years younger

Reversing Aging with Lifestyle Changes: Aging is an inevitable process, but recent research suggests that certain lifestyle changes can potentially reverse the signs of aging. A study published in a scientific journal in 2023 showed that the brain may experience a sudden decline in function at around 54 years old. Another study conducted by the American Nutrition Association found that dietary and lifestyle changes can reverse biological aging in a short period of time.

The study recruited six healthy female participants who followed a specific diet and lifestyle intervention for 8 weeks. The intervention included a diet rich in plant-based foods, adequate animal protein intake, intermittent fasting within a 12-hour window, supplementation with probiotics and polyphenols, regular exercise, relaxation techniques, and sufficient sleep.

The results showed that the participants' biological age decreased significantly, with the highest reduction being 11.01 years. However, it's important to note that there are certain changes in the body that are difficult to reverse with lifestyle modifications. These include skin sagging and wrinkles, changes in nasal shape, enlarged pores, and presbyopia (age-related farsightedness).

Furthermore, three common health issues, namely osteoporosis, tooth loss, and cataracts, can steal years from our lifespan. Preventive measures such as consuming a calcium-rich diet, engaging in weight-bearing exercises, and regular dental check-ups can help mitigate these problems.
