Skin abnormalities related to kidney disease :
1. Skin crystals appear as powder-like crystals on the skin's surface due to the accumulation of urea.
2. Itchy skin occurs when toxins accumulate in the body and stimulate the subcutaneous nerves, leading to discomfort and itching.
3. Skin pigmentation, typically yellow-brown or black, can occur on the face and body due to the accumulation of immune complex toxins during blood dialysis.
4. Facial erythema, characterized by symmetrical erythema on the cheeks, can occur in kidney disease patients with dilated capillaries and hypertension, resembling a butterfly shape.
5. Acquired ichthyosis, or dry, flaky, and cracked skin, is caused by the formation of crystals on the skin's surface and the disturbed epidermal differentiation due to inadequate dialysis.
